Orange Amps

About Orange Guitar Amplifiers:

Orange amps, founded in 1968 by musician and electronics designer Clifford Cooper.

With bright colours, futuristic controls and distinctive logo, Orange amps couldn’t have been established in any other era or country.

Orange also manufactures amplifiers for bass guitar, speaker cabinets for instrument amplifiers and combination amplifiers.

When Cliff Cooper opened a music shop and recording studio in the summer of 1968, he never imagined that from his premises in the heart of swinging, 60's London, that his sound and brand would still be going strong more than 40 years later.

The tone and expertise of a host of famous names went into the development of the first Orange amps. Guitar greats like Peter Green and Paul Kossoff tried the early prototypes and their feedback was vital to the burgeoning sound - Orange has for sure never sounded like anyone else!

Guitar based rock music in recent times has inspired new aspiring guitarists, and with the launch of the Crush in 2001,Orange was able, fo time, to cater to beginners and guitarists with a lower budget. Although, Orange continued to add astounding artists from Prince to Slipknot, and Madonna to the Arctic Monkeys.

Orange might be pretty comfortable in its slippered middle age, but they have never stopped innovating. The Micro Terror, the Rockerverb MKII and the TH30 series have all been developed, and gained critical and public acclaim. Orange’s DIVO OV4 valve optimisation system has also pushed boundaries of what’s possible for traditional tube amplification.

Then in 2011, Orange launched the OPC, a veritable musician's workhorse. A hybrid PC/Amplifier, the OPC created a buzz when unveiled at CES 2011, and showed that even in middle age, Orange is providing musicians with everything they need to unleash their creativity.
